The arts community is alive and well in Hawaii. Because arts organizations are so numerous, we cannot provide links to every one, but here are a few starting points:

  • Live Music Awareness - Live Music Awareness is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to help professional musicians bring their music to the public. LMA presents and supports live music, helps musicians find and realize performance opportunities, and fosters the general health of all kinds of music in Hawaii. An important part of LMA’s mission is education, helping everyone to understand music and musicians better, and to realize that music is made by live human beings, not by machines. To that end, LMA presents music programs in schools, libraries, and other public places, and publishes materials to assist in the educational process.
  • Honolulu Symphony - Founded in 1900, the Honolulu Symphony is Hawaii's premiere arts organization, dedicated to artistic excellence and public service, embarking on a second century of great music.
  • Honolulu Symphony Chorus - The singers of the Honolulu Symphony Chorus are representative of the Honolulu community consisting of members of many professions and several of Hawaii's ethnic groups united by their common talent and love for choral singing.
  • Hawaii Public Radio - The mission of Hawaii Public Radio is to educate, inform and entertain by providing services to Hawaii, the nation and the international community that would not otherwise be available.
  • Honolulu Academy of Arts - The Honolulu Academy of Arts is a private, non-profit institution located in a historic building not far from downtown Honolulu or Waikiki. With its full schedule of studio art classes, gallery tours, school programs, family activities, as well as a film and performance series, the Academy is dynamic and ever-changing--fulfilling the dream of Anna Rice Cooke and distinguishing itself as Hawaii's premier arts institution.
  • Chamber Music Hawaii - Chamber Music Hawaii (CMH) is a presenting and supporting organization for Hawaii's three resident professional chamber ensembles, the Spring Wind Quintet, Honolulu Brass and Galliard String Quartet. CMH presents educational programs and public concerts at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, the Lutheran Church of Honolulu, windward Oahu and the Neighbor Islands.
